2. Booking and Deposits
A 50% deposit secures your training place. The remaining balance is due no later than 7 days before your training date. Deposits and cancellation charges are subject to your statutory rights and will reflect any reasonable loss incurred. Where possible, bookings may be transferred to another available date with at least 7 days' notice.
3. Cancellations and Transfers
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. More than 7 days before your course: we will endeavour to transfer your booking to another available date at no extra charge, subject to availability. Less than 7 days before your course: we may not be able to offer a transfer or refund, as we will have incurred costs in preparing for your attendance. Non-attendance without notice: no refund or transfer will be offered. Your statutory rights are not affected.
4. Cancellation by The Academy
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel a course, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer a full refund or transfer to an alternative date. We are not liable for any additional costs you may incur as a result.
5. Course Content and Certification
Upon successful completion of a course, students receive a Certificate of Completion. Our certificates are not regulated qualifications and do not confer any statutory entitlement. They are professional development certificates issued by The Academy by Jake Alexander. We reserve the right to withhold a certificate where a student has not completed the full course or has not met the required standard of participation.
6. Class Sizes
Extension courses are limited to a maximum of 4 students. Blow-drying and styling courses are limited to a maximum of 6 students. This ensures every student receives personal attention and hands-on time with the educator.
7. Student Responsibilities
Students are expected to arrive on time and prepared, bring any items specified on the kit list, behave respectfully towards the educator, other students and any models, and disclose any relevant health conditions. We reserve the right to ask a student to leave if their behaviour is disruptive. No refund will be given in such circumstances.
8. Liability
The Academy by Jake Alexander takes all reasonable steps to ensure a safe and professional training environment. We are not liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from your attendance, except where caused by our negligence. We are not responsible for any indirect loss arising from attendance or non-attendance.
9. Intellectual Property
All course materials, techniques and content are the intellectual property of The Academy by Jake Alexander. You may use what you learn to develop your professional practice, but you may not reproduce, share or sell our course materials without our written permission.
10. Photography and Social Media
We may take photographs or video during training for use on our website and social media. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let us know before the course begins. By attending, you consent to being photographed unless you have notified us otherwise.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page. Bookings made before any changes are subject to the terms in place at the time of booking.
